How to Make a Whiskey Bottle Lamp

Save

If you are putting together a romantic dinner for your partner, you can make the dinner more romantic by setting out bottle lamps, which are usually created by inserting candles into wine bottles. If you do not have access to a wine bottle, you can make a candle lamp using whatever bottle you may have available, such as an empty whiskey bottle. You can remove the label from the whiskey bottle by soaking it in hot water before inserting the candle.

Things You'll Need

  • Tapered candle
  • Wand lighter
  • Soak a whiskey bottle in hot water for 20 minutes. This will loosen the label on the whiskey bottle.

  • Scrape off the loosened label with your fingernail. Dry off the whiskey bottle with a towel.

  • Light a wand lighter, and hold the flame underneath the base of a tapered candle for about 20 seconds to melt the wax.

  • Press the melted bottom of the candle into the opening of the whiskey bottle. Twist the candle slightly to properly secure the candle inside the opening.

  • Light the wick of the candle, which will cause the wax from the candle to drip down over the whiskey bottle.
