Cigarette smoke odor is seemingly always present when you have people who smoke in the household, leaving your surface smelling strongly of the unpleasant cigarette smell. Around the home you have a variety of different surfaces, from solid flooring and counter tops to soft carpeting and upholstery. To quickly get the cigarette smoke odor out of your home, treat all surfaces with a safe and mild cleaning element that deodorizes quickly.
Things You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Cleaning rags
Mix 1 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon warm water in a cleaning bucket.
Dip your mop into the vinegar water, wring out the mop, and wipe across all hard flooring surfaces. The diluted vinegar mixture is still strong enough to deodorize, yet mild enough for use on any hard floor surface.
Fill a spray bottle with one part white vinegar to two parts water.
Spray this mixture over all hard surfaces and wipe off with a damp cleaning rag. This includes counter tops, cabinets, tables, and similar surfaces.
Mist the spray lightly over all textiles, including upholstery, carpeting, drapes, and similar surfaces. Let the fabric air-dry, and repeat as needed until all cigarette odor is removed.
Fill several bowls with about 1 cup each of white vinegar, and place around the home. Place one bowl in each room and let sit overnight.
