Instructions

    • 1

Turn your jeans inside out. Lay them flat on a table and cut off the legs. Cut through the crotch and then straight across for an edge that's even. Trim the edge into a curve or U-shape.

    • 2

Hand stitch a 1/2 inch seam allowance using matching thread along the bottom of your jeans. Match the side seam of your jeans with the bottom seam on each side.

    • 3

Turn the hobo purse right side out and check the bottom and sides for even edges.

    • 4

Cut two strips of your jean leg about 30 inches long each. Fold one strip in half lengthwise. Be sure to match the long edges. Stitch or hot glue the sides together.

    • 5

Stitch about a one inch jean strip to the inside side seam of the hobo purse. Repeat on the other side of your purse. You hobo purse is ready to be used.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make a drawstring closure by running a cord through the belt loops and tie a bow.

  • Glue Velcro strips or magnetic closures inside the top of the bag to securely close your purse.

  • Exercise caution when using a hot glue gun.
