How to Raise Newborn Twins
Having twins means not only means twice the fun, it means twice the work. Taking care of one newborn is challenging, but taking care of two newborns at the same time can be downright overwhelming. According to the Mayo Clinic, three of every 100 pregnant women give birth to either twins or triplets in the United States. If you are going to be raising twins, be prepared and establish a routine early on.

1
Communicate with your partner or spouse. Let him know how you feel and don't be afraid to tell him about your needs and concerns. Communication is key and will help take away any insecurities you may have along with the feeling of being overwhelmed.
-
2
Ask for help. Don't expect to conquer parenthood alone, especially in the beginning. You'll have double the work to do so an extra set of hands can be very helpful. Ask your family, friends and neighbors to help you prepare meals, do laundry, clean the house, change a diaper, give you a few minutes to yourself or anything else you need help with.

3
Feed the babies at the same time. Whether you are breast- or bottle-feeding, both babies should eat together. This may take some time, coordination and practice at first, but it can be done. Try using a nursing pillow designed for twins or ask someone to help you bottle-feed one baby while you nurse the other.

4
Establish sleeping habits early on. When the babies are on the same sleep schedule, you can find time to get a little shut-eye yourself, or eat, shower or get chores done.
-
5
Find time for yourself. It is easy to get consumed with parenthood in the beginning, devoting yourself to your babies' needs entirely. It's important to remember to take care of yourself. Make sure you eat a healthy diet, sleep when you can and try to get out of the house as often as you can. Pregnancyinfo.net suggests getting out of the house at least once a day.
