Instructions

    • 1

Wash the jars and lids with warm, soapy water. Rinse them well and set them aside.

    • 2

Melt the beeswax in a double boiler with ¼ cup of water. Stir it vigorously while it is melting. Once the beeswax has completely melted, keep it warm.

    • 3

Place the shea butter and the cocoa butter in a medium mixing bowl and place it in the microwave. Turn on the microwave and heat the butters in increments of 30 seconds at a time until they have melted. It should take less than a minute. Remove the bowl from the microwave as soon as the butters melt. Do not cook the butters.

    • 4

Add the melted beeswax, the aloe vera gel and the vanilla extract to the butters in the mixing bowl. Beat them together with a hand-held mixer for approximately 10 minutes, until the mixture is thick and creamy. All the ingredients should be completely intermixed.

    • 5

Apply your body butter generously to clean, dry skin. As you massage it into your body, take in the aroma of the vanilla for an invigorating experience.

    • 6

Refrigerate your whipped polish body butter when you are not using it. If it is kept refrigerated, it should keep for about three months.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your whipped body butter is too dense, melt it in the microwave and add more shea or cocoa butter. Whip it again until it is creamy and replace it in the jars as before.

  • If your whipped body butter is too thin, heat the body butter in the microwave and add more melted beeswax. Whip it as before and replace it in the jars.
