Instructions

    • 1

Organize a pen, pencil, eraser and paper on a stable desk or table for easy access while you are drawing.

    • 2

Turn an 8-by-10-inch sheet of paper lengthwise and measure the center line of the sheet with the ruler. Mark the center line at 5.5 inches with your pencil. Lightly draw the center line by placing the tip of pencil along the side of the ruler as a guide. This will help you keep the line straight. While the ruler is still in position on the center of the paper, lightly mark your first guide line starting at 3 inches.

    • 3

Beginning at the first pencil mark 1 inch down the page in the center of the line, draw a horizontal line approximately 3 inches across. This will be the roof guide line for your 4 x 4 truck.

    • 4

Move down to the next mark at the 2-inch point and draw a horizontal guide line approximately 6 inches long. Repeat this same step at the 3-inch mark and the 4-inch mark. Connect the roof guideline by drawing two vertical lines downward for the windows.

    • 5

Draw the fourth horizontal guideline at the 5-inch point in the center line and extend this line on the right side of the page to measure 6.5 inches long. Draw a connecting line on the left and right side of the previous guide lines to form the front and back body of the 4 x 4 truck. Draw the bumper on the extended 5-inch point guideline.

    • 6

Draw the fifth horizontal guide line at the 6-inch point in the center line and measure it to extend to 7 inches across on the paper. This will be the center point guide for your tires. If you want your tires to be larger, move the guide line down an inch. Draw two circles next to each other beneath the truck for tires.

    • 7

Add detail to the body of the truck by adding windows, headlights and a door. Sketch tread lines on the tires. Draw a smaller circle within the tires for the rims. Continue until you are satisfied with your work. Add as much detail or as little detail as you wish.

Outline the drawing with a pen and erase the pencil marks beneath for a finished drawing.
