How to Reset My Dish Password From Home

Dish Network allows parents to set a password on their TV box that will block children from watching material that is too mature for them. The parental controls are accessed through the main menu on the DishTV box. When a user tries to access a show or game that is over the age rating the account holder has set, the system prompts the user to enter a password. If the password is entered incorrectly, it scrambles the signal.

  • Power on your TV and your DishTV box and press the "Menu" button on your DishTV remote to bring up the main menu. Select the "Locks" or "Parental Controls" option.

  • Enter your four digit password on the remote if the system prompts you.

  • Select the "Change Password" option and enter your current password. Click the "OK" option.

  • Type in your new password using the number keys on the remote. Select the "OK" option, then re-enter your password and select "OK" again. The password is now reset.
