How to Replace Construction Windows
Construction windows are the windows that are originally installed in a house. Since the frame is built into the house it can be measured by a professional and the windows made by a company and delivered where you can install them. This allows you to install more energy efficient windows. It is best to check with the original contractor of the home to locate the designer of the window and contact them for the replacement windows and frames. The house frame need not be replaced. Call your window company and have them come out and measure your windows to determine the correct fit. The company will deliver the replacement windows.

Remove the old windows by removing the clip at the bottom of the window with the flat-head screwdriver. Push the screwdriver into the clip and twist it while pushing down gently on the window. This will free the window from the clip. Repeat this process with the other side. Turn the window and pull it out of the frame.

Take the new window and insert it into the grooves on the frame. Go in at an angle and then turn the window to get the posts that hold the window onto the support mechanism in the gap. Make sure the support clips that feed through the window guide are toward the top.

Place the window at a 90 degree angle to the frame. Push the clips down to the first post and push it over the clip. It will click when it is on. Do the same with the other side.

Push the top of the window into the frame. Located at the top of the window are two clips. When they both snap into place, the window is installed. Close and open the window several times to make sure it fits correctly.
