How to Obtain a Doctorate in PT
A physical therapist works with his or her patients to help rehabilitate injuries. In order to obtain a physical therapy doctorate, you will need to first finish a bachelors degree program, and get accepted into grad school. Almost all physical therapy grad schools will require you to take the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) test in order to apply.

Finish a bachelor's degree program. Graduate schools require a bachelors degree in order for you to apply for for a doctorate program. Focus on maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Contact your school and apply for physical therapy internships. While many of these internships will not be paid, many doctorate programs require experience in order to apply for a physical therapy PHD.

Take the GRE and score as high as you can.

Contact schools in your local area and apply to their physical therapy PHD programs. Completing a physical therapy PHD course will take about three years depending on your course load.

Graduate the PHD program to receive your physical therapy doctorate.
