How to Maintain Jacuzzi Bath Tubs
Failure to properly maintain a Jacuzzi bathtub can lead to dirt and grime accumulating on the bathtub walls and pipes. Cleaning the bathtub keeps it safe for use and allows you to enjoy it with no worries. A Jacuzzi bathtub requires extra care compared to a regular bathtub, so set aside at least one hour each month to thoroughly clean it. Things You'll Need
- 4 tbsp. to 1/4 cup powdered dish-washing detergent
- 1/2 cup bleach
- Bathroom cleaner spray

Fill the Jacuzzi bathtub with hot water -- about 140 degrees Fahrenheit -- in temperature until full.

Add 4 tbsp. to 1/4 cup powdered dish-washing detergent and 1/2 cup household bleach.

Turn on the water jets and let them run for 10 to 15 minutes.

Drain the bathtub.

Refill the bathtub until full with cold water to rinse the detergent and bleach residue.

Drain the bathtub.

Spray a mild, non-abrasive liquid bathroom cleaner onto the surface of the bathtub.

Wipe off the liquid cleaner with a soft cloth.

Tips & Warnings
Don't use an abrasive cleaner on the Jacuzzi bathtub because it could cause scratches.
Avoid using oil-based bath soaps or additives, such as bubble baths, in the Jacuzzi bathtub because the whirlpool action will cause extra foaming, possibly causing the residue to stick to plumbing.
