How to Design a Wedding Band to Match My Engagement Ring
According to Cabat, in ancient times people got married not because they were in love, but because the marriage was arranged by the parents to gain valuable land, farm animals and often to bind two families together. The engagement ring served as a down payment to the bride's family. The ring also was a way for the groom to prove his honorable intentions. According to Enstein, today the engagement ring serves as a promise to marry the bride, and the wedding ring for many couples is an indication of wealth. Many brides prefer to have matching rings. Some couples prefer to engrave their rings with special messages known only to the bride and groom as a sign of fidelity. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Find a jeweler who specializes in creating custom jewelry. It is a good idea to call ahead and ask what kind of experience they have. Be aware that you will most likely need to leave your engagement ring with the jeweler.
-
2
Make an appointment with the jeweler to discuss your plans. Consider bringing your partner with you. Ask how long it will take for your wedding band to be made. Also ask if the jeweler guarantees his work and if he offers a warranty.

Bring the engagement ring to the appointment along with a picture of the ring. Mark on the back of the picture any changes you wish to make. For example, if your engagement ring has a 1.5-karat diamond but you want the wedding ring to have a half-karat diamond, you need to note that. Also mark down any engravings that you want done to both rings.

4
Pick up your wedding ring at least two weeks before your wedding. For many couples the week of the wedding is hectic, so allowing plenty of time for quick design corrections or sizing discrepancies will lessen your stress.
