How to Color With Watercolor Pencils
Watercolor pencils are similar to other colored pencils, except that watercolor pencil leads have a water-soluble base. They are easy to control and light and small to carry. Artists often apply watercolor pencil techniques to create a variety of effects. While it is easy to draw with watercolor pencils, it may take some practice to get used to applying techniques to create the desired look.

Tips & Warnings
Experiment with effects: Dip the pencils in water before drawing to create a heavy and bold effect, start with wet watercolor paper to create a soft effect, or use tools such as sponges or a toothbrush instead of a paintbrush to create interesting effects
Remember that watercolor pencil colors usually darken after water is applied, and that applying water to layered colors may produce different colors; experiment to create the desired look.
Don't use regular paper because it is not designed to accept water and may curl when wet.
