Open up the wall by removing the dresser vanity.

You don't have to live with that rattle-trap-of-a-dresser-back-mirror anymore. If the vanity no longer fits in with the decor of a room or you are sick of trying to clean behind it, remove it. A few screws hold it to the top of the dresser and once these come out the mirror back can be picked up and hauled away. Dresser designs vary, but the hardware fasteners usually require everyday tools for removal. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Philips screwdriver
  • Allen wrench

Instructions

    • 1

      Ask someone to help you move the dresser away from the wall. Move it far enough out so that you can get in behind it without touching the wall.

      Locate the hardware fasteners on the back of the dresser mirror back. They will be secured by a slotted screw, a Phillips screw or a hex screw.

      Remove the screws, turning them counterclockwise, with a flathead screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver or an Allen wrench.

    • 4

      Ask the lifting assistant to stand on one side of the dresser mirror back while you stand on the other. Lift it up at the same time to remove it from the dresser top.
