1
Talk with your primary classroom instructor to determine what part of the day is most suitable for missing all or part of a lesson. Generally, attempt to schedule remedial reading lessons over the another subject where you are already ahead of the curve.
-
2
Plan if possible to schedule your remedial reading lessons so that they end at the time when the regular classroom is beginning their reading lessons. This will prime your mind for reading so that you can apply the remedial techniques to the regular lesson, allowing you to get a double dose of reading to progress that much faster.

3
Rotate the time of the remedial lessons if the coursework you are missing becomes overwhelming or if you begin to fall behind in the subject you are missing. Keep tabs on your progress in the other coursework to ensure that you never get too far behind the rest of the class.
-
4
Taper off the duration of the remedial lessons as mastery increases. Substitute additional practice at home, so that you can rejoin regular classroom lessons as smoothly as possible.
