How to Dress 90's Style for Girls
The style of the 1990s was largely influenced by the swelling popularity of MTV (Music Television). It wasn't long before television shows like "Blossom" and "Beverly Hills, 90210" premiered and influenced fashion. For girls, dressing in the style of the decade includes stonewash jeans, khaki pants and skirts, distressed floral prints and plaid.

1
Decide what type of leg wear is most desired. Try a pair of snug stonewash jeans or looser fitting khakis. Turn a men's tie or long scarf into a sash belt. Allow the slack of the sash belt to dangle off to one side.

2
Stick with a basic black or white T-shirt for the base of the ensemble. Put on either a vest or a large (at least one size too big) flannel button-down over shirt. Tie the flannel around the waist by the sleeves in warm weather.

3
Top off the outfit with a bucket-style hat, preferably one with a cloth flower on it. Point the flower either directly forward or slightly off to the side to achieve a look with more "attitude."
-
4
Accessorize with slap bracelets, plastic rings and choker necklaces. Focus on accessories that do not cost much money but match each other and the outfit in color or style. Wear white socks and solid color sneakers for footwear.
