How to Install Street Scene Side Mirrors on a 2001 GMC Sierra

Street scene side mirrors are held in place by three bolts hidden by the inner door panel. Removing the inner door panel allows access to the bolts so you can remove the old mirror and install the new street scene side mirrors. The installation procedure on your 2001 GMC Sierra is simple and requires only about 30 minutes of time.

      Park the Sierra and open the door on which you will be installing the mirror.

      Pry out the armrest console with a slotted screwdriver. Disconnect the wiring connector of the armrest console.

      Remove the poppets around the edge of the inner door panel with a slotted screwdriver. Remove the water deflector from the edge of the inner door panel.

      Pull the inner door panel off of the door and disconnect its two wiring connectors. Remove it from the door.

      Remove the three bolts securing the mirror to the door. Remove the mirror and install the new street scene side mirror.

      Reinstall the three bolts to the mirror and reattach the inner door panel. Reinstall the poppets and reattach the inner door panel's wiring connectors. Place the armrest console back onto the door and attach its wiring connector. Close the door and adjust the mirror.
