Metal bed frames are sturdy bedroom items that don't need a lot of maintenance. However, they will collect dust and spills through regular use, which need cleaning. If you have a pet you will need to clean more frequently as pet hair gathers around the feet of bed frames. Add bed frames to your regular list of housecleaning chores so the dirt doesn't build up.

Things You'll Need

  • Rag

  • Vacuum

  • Bucket

  • Soft Cloth

  • Dish Soap

Step 1

Dust the bed frame using a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. You can do this when you change your sheets on a weekly basis. Work the cloth into all the grooves and crevices on the bed frame so the dust doesn't build up.

Step 2

Vacuum the bed frame with the dusting attachment for your vacuum cleaner. You can do this whenever you vacuum the room or in lieu of using a dust cloth.

Step 3

Mix a squirt of dish soap in a bucket of hot water and wet a clean rag with it. Wash down the bed frame, rinse off the soap and dry thoroughly. Metal that is allowed to stay wet will rust. Wash the frame on an as-needed basis or when doing a thorough housecleaning.
