How to Get Rid of Cellulite at the Gym

Balance balls are one tool a gym offers in the quest to minimize the appearance of cellulite.

Cellulite is a common problem that torments many women. Some people mistakenly believe that cellulite is a product of obesity, but that is not the case. Cellulite is caused by persistent subcutaneous (under the skin) fat that causes dimpling. There is no cure for cellulite, but working out at a gym is a great way to build muscle, tone your body and make cellulite less noticeable.

Instructions

  1. Create a Workout Plan

    • 1

Meet with a personal trainer (many gyms offer a few free sessions with a new membership) to discuss your concerns and goals. Tell the trainer you want to reduce the appearance of cellulite so he can tailor a regimen to your needs. Once your trainer has designed a workout plan, ask him to go through it with you thoroughly so you understand each step.

    • 2

Combine your workout plan with extra cardio to shrink those fat cells and create a firm, toned body. The cardio should vary, including such gym staples as treadmills, step machines and elliptical trainers. Your body can adjust very quickly to one type of exercise, so use a different machine every time. You should do cardio exercise for at least half an hour every session.

    • 3

Continue to work out at least three to five days a week. You should begin to notice results within four weeks.
