Kirby Vacuum Carpet Cleaner Instructions
The Kirby vacuum and carpet shampooer machine is a combination between a regular vacuum and a carpet shampooer. The carpet cleaning attachments transform the vacuum into a carpet cleaning machine that uses soap foam and a beater brush to eliminate dirt from deep inside the carpet fibers. Using the machine is a simple process, and it takes just a few minutes to convert the machine from a vacuum to a carpet cleaner. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Vacuum the floor thoroughly before adding the shampoo attachment to the Kirby vacuum cleaner. Take about three times longer than usual to vacuum the carpet. Remove any large objects and furniture from the room.
-
2
Fit the brush into the shielded tray. Push the edges of the brush in place until it clicks. If it does not work one way, turn the brush the other direction. It is designed to fit only one way.

3
Clip the nozzle over the front of the bush and tray. The nozzle should go on the same side as the brush. Turn the knob on the nozzle so that the red arrows align. This action properly connects the belt inside the brush.
-
4
Press the pedal on the side of the vacuum until it touches the floor. This will raise the vacuum up far enough so you can slide the nozzle into place. Push the nozzle against the vacuum until it clicks into place. Turn the knob clockwise until the green arrows align.
-
5
Fill the tank up to the third fill line with water. Add three caps of Kirby shampoo liquid to the tank.
-
6
Remove the vacuum bag from the vacuum and replace it with the tank full of water. Click the tank into place. Attach the hose to the front of the tank. Connect the other side of the hose to the nozzle tray.
-
7
Lower the tray by pushing the side pedal all the way up. Turn on the vacuum. Push the pedal on the back of the Kirby unit into the "Drive" position. Open the tank valve to allow foam. Fill the tank with foam.
-
8
Spread the foam evenly over the carpet. Allow the foam to sit for three minutes. Turn the top valve on the tank to the "Off" position. Vacuum up the foam by pulling the vacuum in reverse.
