Instructions

    • 1

Pick fresh fruits that are firm and have good coloring.

    • 2

Clean the fruit in cold water to remove any debris or pesticides.

    • 3

Dry the fruit with a paper towel.

    • 4

Put the fruit in one layer on a mesh tray or cookie sheet. The mesh tray is a better choice because it lets the cold air circulate around all areas of the fruit, allowing it to freeze faster.

    • 5

Place the tray of fruit in the freezer and leave it there for at least seven days. Different fruits freeze at different rates. The larger the fruit, the longer it takes to freeze completely.

    • 6

Put the fruit in freezer bags after it has frozen. Get as much air out of the bags as possible by pushing the air out with your fingers before sealing the bags.

    • 7

Place the freezers bags in the freezer until you are ready to eat the fruit.

    • 8

Eat the fruit within several months of storing. Remove from the freezer and let defrost at room temperature.

How is this freeze drying? Because you allow the cold air to dry it out some while it's freezing? This is NOT what real freeze drying is. Horrible article.
