How to Use Spiritual Symbols in Leadership
No matter what organization you work for, spiritual symbols can be used in any leadership role. Spiritual symbols leave out religion entirely and are the components that appeal to people's hearts. There is an inherent quality in people to be good, considerate and respectful. When leaders use spiritual symbols that convey these qualities, they can help unify people to complete great tasks.

Utilizing the Spiritual Symbol of Unity or the Higher Good
-
1
Use your meeting space and exercises to boost morale. Gather your employees or organization for a meeting. Tell them how every person plays an important role in the group. Every person is like a piece of a puzzle, and there is strength in numbers.

Using this exercise helps people connect to each other and the team. Apply an exercise that shows people the importance of working as a team. For example, group people into teams of two. Each person will face each other, and their feet should almost be touching. Tell them to grab each of their partner's hands and lean back. They will form a V shape. This simple exercise shows how both people play an important role in keeping the other from falling.

When people are unified, they naturally want the best outcome for the team. Use the exercise as an example of how the group's unity or team effort helps fulfill the job at hand. Tell them each person is so important that if even one person is missing, the job cannot be completed. They are not just pieces of the puzzle. Together they are the puzzle. Each person works for the higher good of all.
Utilizing the Spiritual Symbol of Respect or Tolerance

4
No one does a job the same way. Gather employees or organization for a meeting. Tell them the importance of respecting the way every person does their job. There is not just one way to complete a task; there is no right way. Each person contributes to the team by contributing their gifts to the job.

The arts help express the different ways people come to the same conclusion. Show the group an exercise that exemplifies there are many ways to do one job. For example, have every person use any form of art to explain what a baby is. Some may draw the baby, and others may write a poem.
-
6
Explain how there is no right way to express what a baby is. Each person has their own unique perspective. That is why each person chose a particular form of art to complete the exercise. It's this uniqueness that each person brings to the job at hand, so every person should be respected and tolerated for what they bring to the team.

Tips & Warnings
When doing group exercises, it's important for everyone to feel relaxed and have a good time. If that kind of exercise is impossible at the office, try having it at a restaurant or similar place.
It's important to point out people who are being judgmental in the exercises. This helps people become aware of what they may be doing to their teammates on a daily basis on the job.
