Peel your garlic so that the cloves are exposed. Separate each clove. Remove the skin or leave it on, based on your personal preference. The skin will come off when you begin crushing.

    • 2

Place the wooden bowl on a flat surface. Put the cloves in the wooden bowl.

    • 3

Hold the wooden bowl with one hand and the knob of the wooden crusher in the other. It's usually easiest to work the crusher with your dominant hand.

    • 4

Move the wooden handle in a circular muddling motion, applying pressure to the top of the garlic to create a garlic paste or juice. Press the handle onto the garlic in an up-and-down motion to crush the cloves into smaller pieces.

    • 5

Remove any garlic skins from the wooden bowl. Pour the crushed garlic into your recipe or storage container.
