How to Reset a Sonicwall Pro 230 Password

The SonicWALL Pro 230 is a hardware firewall released by SonicWALL that supports port blocking, port forwarding rules, Virtual Private Networks and DSL connectivity. It is an enterprise router designed to fit into small rack mount spaces. If you have lost access to the SonicWALL Pro 230, you will need to reset its configuration to restore it to the default password.

Instructions

1. Disconnect all attached cables to the SonicWALL Pro 230. Remove it from the rack if it is currently rack mounted.

2. Look in the back of the device to see the text "Reset" at the opposite end of the rear of the unit from the "Power" cable.

3. Take a paper clip and insert the end of it into the reset hole, and hold it for 30 seconds.

4. Reconnect the unit and remount it if necessary. Your password has been reset to the default of "Admin" as the username and "password" as the password.
