1
Choose a colour palette. Colours from the 1950s included a lot of blues, pinks, yellows and greens -- but not all at once. A lot of block colours were used. Think of the classic 1950s diner in red, white and black. This was also seen with blue and white and pink and white. White and black tiles were often used in kitchens, with solid colours on the walls and for countertops.

2
Add furniture. Vintage 1950s furniture usually had solid colours and visible legs that were either metal or wood. Kitchen tables were metal with metal trim, and sofas were firm and simple.

Add accessories. Classic art pieces from this period include cat clocks, rock memorabilia, jukeboxes and Elvis Presley items.
