How to Transfer to Voice Mail Delay in Sprint
For cell phone owners, the voice mail feature is essential. If you miss a caller's call, or are unable to take calls, your callers can easily leave a message for you to address at your convenience. There are times, however, when you would like there to be a delay between you not answering your cell phone and your caller being directed to voice mail, perhaps because you simply can't answer your phone as quickly as you would like. Like most cell phone service providers, Sprint allows you to set up your cell phone so you can delay sending callers to voice mail.

Hold down the phone's "Function" key and press the number "2."

Select "Next" on your phone's LCD display. Use your phone's arrow buttons and the "Enter" or "Select" button to do this.

Select "n_ans." Press the "8" button, the "2" button, the "-" button, the "8" button and then the "9" button.

Select "Save" on your phone's LCD display. Do this by pressing your phone's arrow keys and then pressing the "Enter" or "Select" button.

Select either CO or ICM/CO. Only one of these will be an option for you, and which will depend on your phone's software application. Select this option by pressing your phone's arrow keys and the pressing the "Enter" or "Select" button.

Select the amount of time you want your phone to delay going to voice mail after you answer via your LCD display. Do this by pressing your phone's arrow keys and then pressing the "Enter" or "Select" button. Your phone will now delay the amount of time until your callers are transferred to voice mail.

Press your phone's "Function Key." Press the "2" button.

Press the "4" button. Press the "8" key, the "2" key, the "-" key, the "8" key and the "9" key.

Press the following buttons to delay your phone going to voice mail for the listed times:
Press "0" to delay for 10 seconds
Press "1" to delay for 20 seconds
Press "2" to delay for 30 seconds
Press "3" to delay for 40 seconds
Press "4" to delay for 50 seconds

Listen for your phone's confirmation tone. Your callers will now be delayed the amount of time you selected before they are transferred to voice mail.
