Instructions to Make the Fancy Bakery Candles
Candles purchased from a bakery are often more fancy and decorative than those purchased from a grocery store. Bakery candles are colorful, glittery and sculpted in a variety of ways. However, bakery candles can be expensive. One alternative is to make fancy candles at home from the basic constituents used in candle making, such as beeswax and mineral pigments. Once finished, the homemade candles will look as eccentric and decorative as bakery candles, at a fraction of the cost.
Instructions

1
Place 1 lb. of beeswax into a tin can.
-
2
Place the can into a pot of water. Heat the water until the wax melts.
-
-
3
Pour in 1/8 tsp. of mineral pigment. Mix well with a spoon until the melted wax is evenly colored like a bakery candle.
-
4
Sprinkle in 1 tsp. of extra fine glitter. Mix well with a spoon until the glitter is evenly glittered.
-
5
Cut a thin wick to measure 8 inches long.
-
6
Dip each end of the wick three inches into the prepared wax. Pull them out after 2 seconds.
-
7
Twist the wick ends into a spiral shape with your fingers. The wax will be hot but will not burn your hands. Let the wax cool completely.
-
8
Continue dipping the candles into the wax until the candles are about 1/4-inch thick each. Let the candles cool completely.
-
9
Cut the fancy bakery-like candles apart. Repeat this process until you have as many candles as you need for your cake.
