How to Make Artwork From Popsicle Sticks

You can clean off Popsicle sticks and use them in artwork.

If you are looking for a way to reuse ordinary household items and create art at the same time, you should try constructing projects made of Popsicle sticks.

Things You'll Need

• Craft glue
• Paints
• Markers
• Hot glue gun
• Magnet

Instructions

Popsicle Stick Picture

1. Paint or color your Popsicle sticks with markers. Use colors that fit a particular scene that you want to create.

2. Spread craft glue onto a stiff piece of paper, cardboard or poster board in a design. For example, you could create a flower design with a circular center and lines representing petals extending from the center.

3. Place the Popsicle sticks on top of the glue that you arranged on the paper. For example, you could use various colored sticks as petals of the flower.

4. Press the sticks gently onto the paper and allow them to dry thoroughly for several hours.

Popsicle Stick Cross

1. Glue two Popsicle sticks together in the shape of a cross. Use a hot glue gun.

2. Allow the glue to dry for about an hour.

3. Glue decorative items onto the cross, such as plastic gemstones or bits of tissue paper.

4. Glue a magnet to the back, top part of the cross. Once the glue dries, you can display the cross on a metal surface.
