How to Set the Time Zone on a Silicon Scientific

The Silicon Scientific digital atomic watch uses a self-contained radio transmitter to set itself; it connects to the United States atomic clock with the transmitter and automatically sets the time, meaning it never needs to be reset. The manual settings you can adjust on your own include the day, month and date, and the watch's light illuminates your display when pressed. However, in order to activate the time zone setting, you need to use the watch's "Receive" button.

Press down the watch's "Receive" button with one of your fingers; the button is located in the top right corner.

Hold the button down with your finger to make the watch connect to the United States atomic clock with its radio transmitter; the watch will then set itself to the appropriate time zone.

Release the "Receive" button once the time has changed to finish setting the watch's time zone.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check the watch's time with your area's time zone; for example, if you are in Denver, the watch should be set to Mountain Standard Time. Reset the watch with the "Receive" button if the time is incorrect.
  • Check the other buttons of the watch if the "Receive" button isn't working and giving you the right time zone; if the other buttons are functioning, your "Receive" button may be broken. Replace the watch or manually set the time with the "Set" button to your appropriate time zone if the "Receive" button is broken.
