How to Remove Stickiness From Price Stickers
After you purchase an item, a price sticker often remains on it. After you peel the sticker off the item, it will leave behind a sticky residue. The residue is due to the glue or adhesive used to keep the sticker in place. The residue looks unpleasant and other items can stick to it. Things You'll Need
- Razor blade
- Washcloths
- Cotton ball
- Rubbing alcohol
- Paper towels
- Baby oil

Pull the sticker off the item slowly. Scrape the sticker off the item carefully with a razor blade or use your fingernail to peel it if it tears or becomes stuck.

Dampen a washcloth with water. Rub the washcloth over the sticky area. Some price tags contain water-based glue that you can remove solely with water.

Soak a cotton ball with rubbing isopropyl alcohol if the residue remains. Rub the alcohol over the sticky residue. Allow it to sit for five minutes, and then dry the area with paper towels.

Saturate a paper towel with baby oil if you still notice a sticky residue. Soak the area with the oil for three to four minutes. Rub the stickiness off with a dry washcloth.
