Air travel agencies can book airline reservations and make other travel-related arrangements. The agencies can search for the best deal on rental cars, hotels, cruises and more. Some air travel agencies charge a fee for booking an airline ticket, but as of 2011 many air travel agencies are providing the services for free because of stiff competition from other agencies and online booking sites. Most air travel agencies list themselves as full-service travel agents so that they can offer more services.

Navigate to the website for the American Society of Travel Agencies -- the largest association of travel agents in the world, according to the website. The ASTA has member agencies around the world who adhere to a code of ethics for booking air travel and and related reservations.

Search the ASTA database for an air travel agency or full-service airline. Enter your city if you want to choose a local air travel agency, or search at random for another agency. Since most airline tickets are issued electronically it doesn't really matter where your air travel agency is located.
