Instructions

    • 1

Lay your sheet of beeswax on a flat surface. Make sure that the wax is slightly warm. Wax that is cold will crack when it is rolled. Use a blow dryer to warm your wax if it is too cold. Only warm until your beeswax is pliable. Do not melt the wax.

    • 2

Cut your beeswax sheet to the height that you want to make the candle. Cut your wick so that it is at least an inch longer than the desired length of your candle.

    • 3

Place your wick along the edge of the sheet of beeswax. Make sure that the wick hangs out longer on the top and bottom of the beeswax sheet.

    • 4

Roll the sheet of beeswax around the wick. The more you roll it the thinker the candle will become. Make sure you keep the candle even as you roll. Roll slowly, firmly and carefully.

    • 5

Press the end of the beeswax sheet lightly along the candle to secure it. Cut off the bottom end of the wick and leave ½ inch wick on top.

    • 6

Prime the wick by melting a little bit of beeswax and dipping the wick into the melted wax. Melt beeswax by boiling hot water in a pot, putting a metal pie plate above the boiling water and putting a little bit of the beeswax on the pie plate.

    • 7

Flatten the bottom of the candle by pressing it on the hot pie plate.

    • 8

Decorate your candle by cutting out small pieces of beeswax and pressing on the candle in a desired design or pattern.
