How to Remove Application Email Access in Facebook

How to Remove Application Email Access in Facebook thumbnail
Application permissions can be changed to reduce spam emails.

Facebook applications are a great way to play games and share information. When an application begins sending you more email than you would prefer, you can unsubscribe from its list. Simply unchecking the email box in the application settings within Facebook will not keep you from receiving unwanted messages. This step only keeps the application from obtaining new email addresses that are associated with your account in the future.

Instructions

    • 1

Open an email you recently received from the Facebook application.

    • 2

Scroll to the bottom of the email.

    • 3

Follow the directions to unsubscribe. Most applications have an "Unsubscribe" link. Some applications will require that you reply to the email with "unsubscribe" in the email subject line.

Tips & Warnings

  • The unsubscribe information in application emails is usually placed in small print toward the bottom of the email. Sometimes this information is in a lighter font color, such as gray, so may be difficult to immediately locate.
