How to Access My Capital One Account
Setting up online access to your Capital One account can help you track your spending and give you early access to problems with identity theft or unauthorized access to your account. Once you establish online access, you can log on to your credit card and bank accounts from anywhere and get an instant snapshot of their status and current balances.

1
Find a recent bank or credit card statement from Capital One. You will need your account number to enroll for online access.
-
2
Go to the Capital One Enroll Now! -- Online Banking for Your Credit Card page, and click the "Enroll Here" button near the top of the page (see Resources). Click the "Enroll" link next to the financial product you want to authorize for online access. Agree to the terms and conditions and click "Continue."

3
Enter the requested information, including your account number, the expiration date if enrolling your credit card and the last four digits of your Social Security number. During the enrollment process, you will also be asked to set up security questions. These security questions can be used to restore your access if you forget your password and to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
-
4
Create a user ID and password for your account. Verify the information you have entered to set up your online access.
-
5
Go back to the Capital One website and click the drop-down box to choose the account you want to access. Click "Log In" and enter your user ID and password. You might have to answer one of your security questions if you are logging on for the first time or if you are logging on from a computer other than the one used to set up your account access.
-
6
Review your Capital One accounts. Notify the bank immediately if you spot any fraudulent activity, including purchases you did not make or withdrawals you did approve.
