How to Make a Cargo Plane Out of Paper
Cargo planes are types of planes that ship goods, mail, or other merchandise. Cargo planes are similar in shape and size to passenger planes. Some models of commercial passenger planes like the Boeing 727 have been converted for use as cargo planes. The interior of a cargo plane is designed to hold and ship goods. They are packed like many commercial delivery trucks are, except they hold a far greater scale of goods. Paper cargo planes can be made at home or purchased in kits that you can assemble.

1
Place the piece of 8-inch by 10-inch paper on your workspace so that the short sides are at the top and bottom. Fold the paper in half to make a vertical crease. Fold the top left corner of the short side of the paper down to the right hand edge, so that there is an inch of the paper left that it does not cover, then unfold it. Do the same with the top right hand corner, bringing it down to the left side edge and unfold it.
-
2
Measure 1/2-inch above the center of the X that the creases make and draw a straight horizontal line. Fold the top of the paper down, and crease the fold on the horizontal line you just drew. Take the left top corner of the paper. Fold it up onto the crease mark that was previously made, then push the corner in until it folds to make an accordion shape. Do the same for the right hand side.

3
Fold the top right side over to the left hand side so that there are two accordions folded into the paper. Next take the remaining bottom edge of the right side and fold it over to the center crease. Fold the top triangle from the left back over to the right and into its original position.
-
4
Fold the bottom of the top right hand corner over, taking the rest of the right hand side with it to make a vertical crease, leaving an inch on the left hand side visible when you do so. This is a half size of the previous right to left fold. Unfold it. Move the right wing over to the left on the crease you just made.
-
5
Fold the entire right side over to the center crease. Next unfold the right wing to move it back toward its original position. Repeat this for the left side.
-
6
Mountain fold the paper in half. This is done by folding one half of the paper behind itself, not in front like the rest of the folds we have made thus far. This will create the body of the plane.
-
7
Push the bottom front part to make a sharp nose for the plane. Make a diagonal X shaped crease with the tail of the plane, then push in the tail section to create an accordion. Make a fold that is parallel to the body of the plane and 3/8-inch apart. Crease this diagonally to make the tail fins of the plane.
-
8
Pull the tail's top out while pushing in the central edge, then rotate the tail fins 90 degrees to finish making your cargo plane.
