Instructions

    • 1

Place the car jack underneath your vehicle so it is closer to the rear wheel which you are looking to carry out the work on. Raise the vehicle off the ground and support it with jack stands.

    • 2

Use a lug wrench to remove the three lug bolts from the rear wheel. Lift the rear wheel off the axle and place it in a safe area.

    • 3

Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolts from the rear brake caliper. Unhook the electrical wiring from the caliper and remove it from the vehicle. Take the retaining nut out from the back of the rotor. Remove the rotor from the vehicle.

    • 4

Remove the bolts from the hub. Carefully wiggle the hub backwards and forwards until it comes away from the wheel assembly. If it is difficult to remove, use a wooden mallet to knock it out of place.

    • 5

Remove the outer and inner wheel bearings from the wheel hub. Roll the bearings on a smooth surface to check their condition. If any of the bearings have holes or grooves in them they should be replaced. Insert the new bearings and reinstall the wheel assembly by following the removal steps in reverse. Repeat the process on the second rear wheel.
