How to Make Bra Pads

Bra pads give the illusion of fuller cleavage without surgery.

Bra pads are good secret additions to every woman's intimate apparel collection. They are helpful in achieving the sexy bustline with little fuss and zero pain. Often called push-ups or chicken cutlets, bra pads are quick and easy to make. The best thing about making your own bra pads is that you can custom design them to fit the way you need them to. You can choose the size, style and color of the pads as well. They are so simple to create you can make a few different pairs.

Things You'll Need

• Measuring tape
• Paper
• Pen or pencil
• 2 feet by 2 feet nylon fabric
• Scissors
• Thread
• Needle
• Bag of cotton balls

Instructions

Creating the bra pad shells

1. Measure one of your breasts horizontally and vertically with the measuring tape. Write these measurements on a piece of paper. Measurements will be different for each woman. We will call the horizontal measurement X and the vertical measurement Y.

2. Lay out the nylon fabric on a flat surface and cut it exactly in half.

3. Draw a cross on the top half of each piece of fabric. Draw the horizontal line the same length as X and the vertical line half an inch smaller than Y. For example, if your X and Y measurements are 3 inches by 3 inches, the cross you draw should be 3 inches by 2.5 inches.

4. Draw an oval around the cross you just drew. Make the oval evenly shaped. Let the cross line end points dictate the width and height of the oval. Do this for both pieces of fabric.

5. Fold each piece of fabric in half with the oval on the visible side of the fabric. Cut the oval out of the folded fabric. This should leave you with four oval shaped pieces of fabric.

6. Thread the needle and sew the first two ovals together along the edges. Leave one inch of edge unsewn. Do the same with the other two fabric ovals.

Stuffing the bra pad

1. Turn the ovals inside out, pushing the fabric through the unsewn edge. Now you have two stuffable bra pad shells.

2. Stuff each bra pad shell with cotton balls until you reach your desired firmness and size.

3. Sew the unfinished bra pad shell edge closed when the pads have been sufficiently stuffed.
