How to Make a Pin Tuck Duvet Cover

The way the pin tucks gather the fabric makes the comforter look more fluffy and practically begs you to climb into bed for a good night's sleep. 1
Lay one sheet out on a flat surface with the wrong side up. The floor or a very large table will work. Starting 6 inches from the top edge and 6 inches in from one side, draw small dots with the chalk or marker every 6 inches across the width of the sheet. Make another row of dots 6 inches below the first and continue to make rows of dots down the length of the sheet. Make sure you space them evenly, 6 inches apart. Repeat on the other sheet.

2
Thread the needle with the embroidery floss. Gather the fabric into folds by the first dot so that the dot is at the tip of a fold. Push the needle and floss through the gathered fabric, about 3/4 inch below the dot. Wrap the thread around the gathered fabric, then push it through the wrapped-around thread to make a knot. Trim the thread with the scissors. Repeat with the remaining dots.

Sew the sheets together with the sewing machine and thread; allow for a 1/2-inch seam. Turn the duvet right side out and slide your comforter inside.
