How to Use Mason Jars for Drinking Glasses at Weddings

A mason jar can make a beautiful drinking glass.

Mason jars are glass containers that are known for their use in canning and preserving food, such as fruits. These glass jars have begun to make appearances at weddings, where they are used for anything from glasses to drink from, centerpieces, vases or candle holders. Mason jars are a simple addition to a reception table, and they give off a country or classic vibe, depending on the rest of the decor. With a little attention, it's easy to make beautiful mason jar glasses.

Things You'll Need

• Ribbon
• Lemons or limes
• Knife
• Straws

Instructions

1. Obtain an appropriate amount of mason jars for your wedding reception. Clean and rinse them.

2. Decorate the jars. Mason jars look great on their own, but you can also jazz them up with ribbon. Tie the ribbon around the jar and tie it into a bow.

3. Add slices of lemon or lime to the jar. Place a few slices in the jar; they look stunning when liquid is entered to the glass and they float delicately to the surface. Stick another slice on the rim to complete the look.

4. Add a straw. A straw provides a burst of color to the beverage and makes it easier to drink from the mason jar.
