How to Install a Double-Handle Gooseneck Kitchen Sink Faucet Head

Installing a double-handle gooseneck kitchen faucet requires a sink with holes pre-cut to match your faucet pattern. Most sinks are cut with double holes on either side of a larger spout hole, to match the dual-handle design of many faucets today. The installation includes installing both handles and the spout into the base of the sink. This is a project for an ambitious do-it-yourself homeowner with at least four hours to spare.   • Gooseneck faucet installation kit (includes faucet hoses and faucet body, O rings, gasket, washer, faucet nut, diverter assembly, spout retainer, bonnet, spout, handle bases, gasket, nut and escutcheon, )

Instructions

      Slide the faucet hoses for the spout body through the center hole so the O rings are above the sink's surface. Slide the gasket and washer over the hoses from underneath the sink. Thread on the nut and tighten it with a wrench underneath the sink.

      Press the diverter assembly into the top of the body. Place the spout retainer over the top of the body, and slide the bonnet on the retaining. Connect the spout to the bonnet and retainer and press it into place.

      Slide the handle bases through the sink holes on either side of the spout. Slide the gasket washer and nut over the hoses and thread them onto the bottom of the handle bases under the spout. Tighten each with a wrench or large pliers, to secure the handle bases to the sink. Leave part of the base above the sink.

      Slide the handle gasket and escutcheon plate, which is the round trim plate that fits around the faucet body, over the handle base and insert the cartridge into the base. Thread on the bonnet nut and tighten it by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench.

      Attach the handle by sliding it onto the stem and tightening the screw at the base of the handle with an Allen wrench.
