Instructions

    • 1

Cover a large gift with a baby blanket and secure it with diaper pins. You can also use a burp blanket or baby towel for a smaller package.

    • 2

Set one small gift in each decorative food container. Because the container itself is a useful gift, the ones inside can be smaller, such as a pair of booties or a pacifier.

    • 3

Stack the decorative food container gifts on top of the large blanket-covered box (the smallest on top) to give the appearance of a tiered cake. Place baby bibs or other baby garments in between the layers of the "cake," letting them drape down a little. Use a little tape to hold the containers in place if they seem unstable.

    • 4

Set a topper on the "cake" to finish it, for instance, a baby bonnet, a bath duck or a cookie cutter.

Tips & Warnings

  • Turn this gift into a scavenger hunt by hiding all the container gifts. Start with the large blanket-covered box on the table with a note on the top with a clue to finding the first gift. When the mom-to-be finds this piece, complete with the next clue, have her bring it back to the table and stack it on top of the first box. Continue until she has built the whole "cake."

  • Have other guests join in the fun and as they arrive, put their gifts in the tupperware if you don't want to fill the containers yourself.
