How to Send Pictures & Smileys for Free

Emoticons are a popular way to end a message.

Working your way through the marketing emails and other junk that finds its way into your inbox on a daily basis can be a drag. That's what makes receiving a message from somebody you know and love all the more pleasing. And what could possibly be better than receiving a personal message with an emoticon at the end and a nice picture attached. You can send images and smileys for free from most Web-based email accounts.

Instructions

1. Sign up for a free, Web-based email account like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail or Hotmail. (See Resources.)

2. Click the link to create a message and type text.

3. Click the emoticon link below the address box and choose the smiley you'd like to insert into your message. You can add as many emoticons, at any point in the message, as you like. You may need to enable "Rich text formatting" in the toolbar of your email program to access the emoticon feature, depending upon which site you're using.

4. Select the attachment link in your email program and upload the picture from your hard disk that you want to send.

5. Click "Send" to send your message, along with the picture and emoticons, for free.
