A knife storage wood block is the perfect solution for keeping your knives organized. The typical knife storage wood block consists of multiple slots to accommodate several knives. When placed on the countertop, it keeps your knives conveniently at hand. To prevent bacteria, keep your knife storage wood block clean.
Things You'll Need
- Compressed air
- Spray bottle
Remove all the knives from the knife storage wood block. Turn the knife storage wood block upside down and firmly shake it to remove debris. For debris that is difficult to remove, use a can of compressed air, which is typically used to remove dust on your computer keyboard. Hold the can 2 inches from each knife slot and spray.
Add 2 tbsp. bleach to 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Spray the solution into each of the knife slots. Turn over the storage wood block to let the bleach and water mixture drain.
Spray clean water into each knife slot with a garden hose or a kitchen sprayer. Repeat until all the slots are rinsed out. Turn over the knife storage wood block to allow the water to drain. Leave it in that position to thoroughly air dry.
