DIY FM Radio Transmitter

FM radio transmitters allow you to enjoy the music from your MP3 player or other audio device over your FM radio. The transmitter takes the audio signals from your MP3 player's audio jack and sends them to your radio's antenna. They are designed to work right out of the box and there is no need to call a professional to perform the installation.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the cable from the radio transmitter into the headphone jack on your MP3 player.

    • 2

Turn on the radio transmitter. Plug the power cord into a nearby wall outlet, if your transmitter has one.

    • 3

Turn on your MP3 player and play a song. This causes the transmitter to begin sending the signals.

    • 4

Tune your radio to the frequency displayed by the transmitter. Change the frequency if the one already displayed receives a signal from nearby radio station.

    • 5

Turn the volume on the MP3 player to half and use the radio's volume dial to set the desired audio level.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your transmitter has a programmable frequency, use your radio to find a station that receives the weakest signal and set that station on the transmitter.
