How to Tell Which Chrysler Cars Are E85 Compatible

Chrysler is one of many automakers now producing vehicles that are E85 compatible. These vehicles also go by the name of "flex-fuel vehicles." The engines in these vehicles run on either unleaded gasoline or E85, which is a mix of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. Before putting E85 in your Chrysler vehicle, it's important to know whether or not your vehicle is equipped to handle this specific fuel. Putting E85 in a vehicle not equipped to run on it can cause severe engine damage and result in costly repairs.

1. Look at the gas cap on your Chrysler. This is perhaps the easiest and quickest way to determine if it is E85 compatible. If it has a yellow gas cap, it is a flex-fuel vehicle and can run on E85.

2. Check the owner's manual, which will stipulate what kind of fuel your specific Chrysler model can run on.

3. Call your local Chrysler dealers and read them the Vehicle Identifcation Number. They will be able to tell you whether or not it is E85 compatible based on the VIN.
