How to Kill the Virtumonde Process

Virtumonde display ads on your computer to try to convince you to buy false services and products.

Virtumonde is an adware program that is designed to infect your computer silently and then display advertisements. The Virtumonde program makes sure that the process that you kill are restarted almost immediately. In order to get rid of the Virtumonde process, you will have to use a piece of software designed to remove Virtumonde from your computer. Virtumonde is also known as Winfixer, Vurtumondo, Vundo or Msevents.

Instructions

Vundofix

1. Open your browser and go to the VundoFix website.

2. Click on "Download VundoFix" and save the file on your desktop.

3. Double-click on the Vundofix.exe file and click on "Scan for Vundo" and wait for the scan to complete.

4. Press "Fix Vundo" to kill and end the Virtumonde process and remove all the infected file.

Virtumundobegone

1. Open your browser and download Virtumundobegone. Save the file to your desktop.

2. Reboot your computer and press "F8" during the boot sequence.

3. Arrow to "Safe mode with network" and press "Enter."

4. Double-click on the Virtumondobegone.exe file when Windows finishes booting.

5. Click "Clean" to remove Virtumonde.

Tips & Warnings

• Windows 7 will not run Virtumondobegone.
