How to Learn Unix Online
Unix is a computer operating system that was originally developed in 1969 at Bell Labs. Since inception, Unix has been an interactive, multi-user computer operating system that controls the communications, data storage and information process capabilities of the computer hardware. Over the years Unix has evolved many times. These days Unix is considered more of a standard than a standalone operating system. Many other systems are based on the Unix framework, including GNU/Linux, Mac OS X/Darwin (Apple), AIX (IBM) and Solaris (Sun), so learning Unix can give you a solid base from which you can expand your knowledge in nearly any direction.
Learning Unix isn't easy, but there are a number of free online tutorials available.
