Instructions

1
Wash the bread pan and kneading blade with dishwashing soap before each use. Wipe the outer and inner surfaces of the bread pan and the kneading blade with a soapy dishcloth and then rinse the parts completely. Do not immerse the bread pan while washing it -- this may cause damage. Dry the bread pan with a towel.
-
2
Hold the West Bend bread machine at an angle and place the bread pan in the machine. Fit the bread pan into place by firmly turning it clockwise. Insert the kneading blade into the bottom of the bread pan and firmly push it down.
-
-
3
Follow the bread machine recipe and place the liquid ingredients into the bread pan first followed by the dry ingredients. Sprinkle the yeast in the pan last. Precisely measure every ingredient to ensure satisfactory results.
-
4
Close the West Bend bread machine and plug the power cord it in to an electrical outlet.
-
5
Press "Menu" and choose the baking option you wish to use: Basic, French, Quick, Sweet, Super Rapid, Dough, Jam, Cake, Sandwich and Bake. Press "Loaf" to select the size loaf you wish to make. Press "Color" to set the desired crust color.
-
6
Press "Start" to begin the bread cycle. Press "Start" again after the bread finishes baking to turn the West Bend bread machine off. Alternatively, allow the bread machine to progress through a one-hour "Keep Warm" cycle, at which time the machine will turn off.
-
7
Open the West Bend bread machine and remove the bread pan by turning it counter-clockwise, using a hot pad to prevent burns. Place the bread pan onto a trivet on the counter and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
-
8
Invert and shake the bread pan until the bread falls out. The kneading blade usually stays inside the bread pan after removing the bread, but it's always important to check the bottom of the bread machine and, if the kneading blade is missing, check the bottom of the loaf for the kneading blade.
-
9
Cool the bread for about 20 minutes before slicing and serving it.
-
10
Fill the bread pan halfway with warm, soapy water and allow it to soak for up to 20 minutes. Loosen and remove the kneading blade from the bread pan and wash the items according to the instructions in Step 1.
