How to Make a Military Uniform Purse

You can easily turn pants into a purse.

If you have an old pair of military pants, you can easily turn them into a functional and stylish military uniform purse. With the pockets and the belt strap, you don't need to buy any other equipment apart from a zipper mechanism. By doing this, you can recycle an old pair of pants and make yourself a useful purse to carry around everything you'd ever need. If you don't already have a military uniform to work with, you can buy military pants from an Army Surplus store.

Things You'll Need

• Military pants
• Sewing kit
• Zipper mechanism
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Cut an old pair of military pants one inch below the crotch level. Cut across the patch so that the pants are now open. Turn the pants inside out and sew together the legs and crotch area, making sure that the join is neat. Do not sew the pockets up, as they can still remain used on the purse.

2. Remove the belt from the pants and cut it in half. Sew this to either side of the top of the pants to make a strap for the purse.

3. Sew a zipper into the top of the purse and make sure that you can fully close and open the pants/purse.

4. Add any patches or adornments that you wish. Visit your local army surplus store to buy patches or other things that you can attach to your purse.
