Turning your coffee maker into a tea maker can save you money and time. Though boiling water on the stove to make a cup of tea is customary, you can't make as much tea or make it in as timely a manner as when using a coffee maker. Tea is the second most consumed drink after water and may have many health benefits because of the flavenoids it contains. Though it typically has less caffeine per cup than coffee, tea is an alternative to get you going in the morning. Making tea in a coffee maker saves time, and the cleaning is minimal.       Wash out your coffee maker to get rid of any leftover coffee or grounds. Rinse the grounds basket if possible.

      Insert a coffee filter into the basket. Measure out your tea and add to the filter. If you like stronger tea, use 1 tbsp. tea to 1 cup of water. If you are using tea bags, insert 1 bag for each cup of water, but if you are making five or more cups, use 1 teabag per 1.5 cups of water.
