How to Convert a Secure Mobipocket to LRF

Convert Mobipocket to be read in other formats.

Mobipocket is a company that produces e-book reader software and e-book readers for PDAs. The file format that Mobipocket uses is PRC. Other e-book readers use the LRF format. If you want to convert Mobipocket to LRF to read books on different e-book readers, you can do so with the Calibre software converter application.

Things You'll Need

• Calibre e-book management software (version 0.7.24)

Instructions

1. Download the Calibre e-book management software (see Resources). Click "Save" when prompted to save the application to the computer.

2. Click "Start," "Computer" and navigate to the Calibre installer icon. Double-click the icon. Follow all instructions to complete the installation.

3. Launch the Calibre e-book management software from the location you saved it in. Click "Add Book" from the main menu. Locate the secure Mobipocket file you wish to convert from the menu. Click the file and click "Open." This will save the file in Calibre's library.

4. Scroll through Calibre's library to locate the Mobipocket file you just saved. Click it to open it. Click "Convert E-books" from the main menu.

5. Locate the "Output Format" drop-down menu. Click it to open it and select "LRF" format. Click "OK" to convert the file.
